Mission Statement of The Echoes of Love – Church of Christ at Bouldercrest

At The Echoes of Love, our mission is deeply rooted in the spirit and teachings of the Church of
Christ at Bouldercrest. We are dedicated to sharing God’s message and uplifting communities
through the power of song. Our mission aligns with the fundamental values of our church: to
bring those who are lost to Christ, nurture their faithfulness, and empower them to be
productive and vibrant members of their communities.

We strive to create music that not only ministers to the hearts of listeners but also enriches
their spiritual journey, fostering a closer relationship with God. Our aim is to embody and
spread the love of God, blending harmonious vocals with a deep commitment to the teachings
of Christ. As we perform, we aspire to be spirit-filled, morally sound, academically enriched,
socially engaged, and doctrinally steadfast.
 

Our group is not just about singing; we are actively involved in our local community, supporting
various organizations and initiatives that align with our Christian values. We believe in lifting up
and magnifying the name of Jesus Christ through every note we sing and every life we touch.
 

The Echoes of Love cherishes the blessings and support we have received. We are especially grateful to the leadership at the Church of Christ at Bouldercrest for their unwavering encouragement and guidance. As we travel and share our ministry, we are constantly reminded of the profound impact our music has on individuals and communities alike.

Our History

The Echoes of Love at the Church of Christ at Bouldercrest

For over four decades, the Echoes of Love has been a beacon of spiritual joy and inspiration
through their dedicated music ministry. This esteemed choral ensemble, originating from the
Church of Christ at Turner Road, was officially established in 1982 under the guidance of Bro.
Charles (Chuck) Martin. This group, initially christened The Echoes of Love, emerged from a
small group of young adult vocalists, directed with passion by Ms. Rita Hurley.
 

Mr. Martin's leadership spanned about 15 years, during which the Echoes of Love gained
considerable recognition across our brotherhood for its melodious harmony and became a
catalyst for the formation of other choral groups within the Atlanta community.

In a pivotal moment in 1996, Bro. Martin entrusted the leadership to Bro. Landon Lee. Bro.
Lee, with his profound love for God, shifted the Echoes of Love’s focus more deeply towards
ministry. He championed the belief that their musical offerings should resonate with the
audience, nurturing a deeper connection with God.

The baton was then passed in 2011 to Bro. Ossie (OJ) Carney, who currently directs this
remarkable group. Under Bro. Carney's stewardship and with a vibrant new wave of vocal
talent, the Echoes of Love persist in their mission to spread God's love and minister through
their gifted musical expressions.

We are grateful for the continued support and enthusiasm for the Echoes of Love and look
forward to many more years of uplifting and spiritually enriching music.
